We are delighted to welcome you to the 6th International Conference on Social Studies and Education (ICSSE 2026), organized by the Postgraduate Civic Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia. This year’s theme, “Advancing Sustainable Development and Human Rights through Civic Education: Local Wisdom, Global Commitments, and Pancasila Values,” highlights the vital role of civic education in promoting sustainability, human rights, and social justice by integrating local wisdom with global perspectives and the foundational values of Pancasila.
ICSSE 2026 brings together educators, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to exchange insights, present innovative research, and foster international collaboration. The conference provides a dynamic platform to explore how civic education can contribute to the advancement of inclusive societies, strengthen democratic values, and address global challenges through contextually grounded and culturally relevant approaches.

WHO WE ARE?
We are the Postgraduate Civic Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia an academic community committed to advancing civic knowledge, democratic values, and educational innovation. Our department is dedicated to fostering critical, responsible, and globally minded citizens through interdisciplinary research, transformative pedagogy, and engaged scholarship. With a strong foundation in Pancasila philosophy and civic ethics, we focus on addressing pressing societal challenges in the digital age, including equity, participation, and citizenship in diverse contexts.
